UA-23008646 September 2007 | The Midwest Speed Quest
September has been a great month. We have had the pleasure of a number of great guest attending the Midwest Speed Quest.

John Whaley of Dallesport Washington spent a few days in Worthington in early September. John is a skilled sailor who visitied the Worthington area while on duty managing and maintaining some of the many Large Wind Generators in the area

Don and Annabel Ferguson of Windsor Ontario spent 4 days in Worthington in early this month. They are accomplished and well traveled Top Canadan Windsurfers who ventured to the USA for a few days of Speed Sailing. They both turned in very impressive sessions considering the nominal conditions during their stay in Worthington. Don holds 10th Position in the Men's Category, and Annabel in in First Position in the Women's Category. They were guests for several days at the Worthington AmericInn, and also spent several days with the Bergh's. They were most welcome guests, and we hope they return in 2008.

Richard White of Portland Oregon is the current leader of the 2007 Midwest Speed Quest. Richard has been attending many US WIndsurfing National Race Tour Events in the 2007 Season. Richard spent 5 days in Worthington as a guest of the Midwest Speed Quest. He was awaiting a "Worthington High Wind Alert". Although no High Winds presented during his stay in Worthington, Richard and his dog Murphy spent a few restful days, and are not attending the Windpower Championships, Sept 21-23 in Fon du Lac Wisconsin. This is a great Regatta, and is sponsored by Windpower Windsurfing and Kevin Gratton.

As the High Winds of Autumn approach Worthington, we look for other visiting windsurfers to attend. We have had contacts from Windsurfers in Michigan, Texas, California and Georgia. Will one of these windsurfers exceed the top speed of 31.94 knots set by Richard White on June 7th? Will one of the Top Sailors from 2006 return yet this year to claim First Place in 2007?

The First Prize of $1000 CASH will be awarded to the Winner!
